Promoting Sector Career Opportunities for Youth

The average age of the workforce in our sector is rising rapidly and we are facing a shortage of skilled workers coming in. The AHB&RSC participates in a number of projects and activities that encourage young people to consider a career in our industry. We are developing materials that communicate the industry's skills, standards, training and employment opportunities. Our participation in student-oriented career events is increasing awareness of, and interest in, career opportunities in our industry.

We are also crafting and supporting several innovative programs that give job seekers a glimpse of our industry's many options. Currently we are seeking funding through industry partner organizations to further develop and produce an interactive CD and web site content aimed at youth. Here are some samples of its proposed content.
